Announcing the latest MTNA student chapter,
The ASU MTNA COLLEGIATE CHAPTER!
The Arkansas State University Piano Society and MTNA Collegiate Chapter are open to any student who enjoys music for the piano, whether s/he is a piano major, piano minor, a student taking private lessons or class piano, or just a music lover. The primary purpose of this group is to expand the horizons of current offerings at the university to include bringing in guest artists for recitals, master classes, and lectures, and by helping students travel to attend concerts off-campus in Jonesboro and in other nearby cities. We will also strive to maintain the pianos in the Fine Arts Building practice rooms by keeping track of their condition and calling a tuner/maintenance person when necessary (please give tuning and repair requests to Dr. Clark). We will meet occasionally to have studio classes, discuss piano-related topics and to listen to live and recorded music.
The advisor for the group is Dr. Lauren Schack Clark. Inquiries may be addressed to Dr. Clark at 870-680-8029 or lsclark@astate.edu.
