FROM SHARON ARD
Greetings from South Arkansas Music Teachers Association-Online Chapter! We are happy to invite you to join our growing local affiliate of MTNA and ASMTA. This group began meeting in September 2024. Since we meet virtually, you can join us from anywhere.
We are an association of friendly, supportive, and dedicated teachers of music. If you are looking for a conveniently located local association, we are here for you. Our programs will be recorded and available to SAMTA members. Share this information with those who are already MTNA and ASMTA members looking for a local and those who are considering membership in MTNA and ASMTA. Sometimes just knowing a local group is available makes a difference in someone joining MTNA. We are already seeing people reinstate memberships, because they now have a place to belong.
Check out our fall lineup below. In addition to these meetings we have more fun in store for the spring, including a workshop February 13 by Susan Ogilvy on creative teaching ideas. The Ogilvy workshop and Goldston virtual masterclass are made possible through an MTNA Foundation Fund Affiliate Enrichment Grant.

Hi Lauren,
Thank you for your questions. We would be interested in combining with you all in some way. We could eventually form something like the Virtual Local Music Teachers Association of Arkansas. We very much appreciate your question regarding fees. Membership in SAMTA is $10 a year. The nonmember fee for each event is $5. We are in the process of setting up a PayPal account. The Chris Goldston masterclass and Susan Ogilvy workshop will be open to all MTNA, ASMTA members and prospective members, but will feature students from SAMTA teachers.
To pay the membership fee one can send a check made payable to SAMTA online chapter to me 726 Oak Manor Drive
El Dorado, AR 71730
I will let the National office know and the person will be added to our membership list. It is better to add directly at the MTNA website. You should be able to add at the MTNA website when renewing your dues. If dues have been paid you should be able to add on the MTNA website. The other option is to contact Melissa Curtice at headquarters and she will help you. With any of those ways it’s helpful that I know when someone joins. I can give you the information on our PayPal account when Rilla gets it set up. Hopefully, I didn’t totally confuse you.
Thanks,
Sharon
